Frequently asked questions
Will it change the colour of my wood?+
No. It dries clear and matt, with no film, so the wood keeps its natural colour and grain.
Can I use it on painted wood?+
It's made for bare, unpainted timber, where it can soak in. Remove any loose paint first.
Which woods can I use it on?+
All wood types, including oak, pine, cedar and redwood, on fences, sheds, decking and garden furniture.
How much do I need?+
One 5L tin covers about 30m². Rough or absorbent wood uses more.
How long does it take to dry?+
Touch dry in 1–2 hours. Apply a second coat after 3–4 hours.
Does it stop mould?+
Its silicone-based formula resists mould and fungi and keeps the wood drier, which reduces growth.
How long does it last?+
It's designed to protect exterior timber for up to 10 years, depending on exposure.
Can I paint or stain over it?+
It's designed as a clear finish. Water-repellent surfaces don't take paint or stain well, so stain first if you want colour.
